Use the Start-up Forum as a platform and draw attention to yourself

The LOPEC Start-up Forum is a place for young entrepreneurs and start-ups to present their innovative ideas, businesses, and products in a short ten-minute talk. Their aim is to attract partners and investors for their projects. The forum is open to all LOPEC visitors, exhibitors and conference participants which allows you to reach all members of the industry with your presentation.

Would you like to give a presentation at the Start-up Forum? Then submit your abstract to us by January 18! You can choose between the two modules “Seed Financing” and “B-Round”.

The Start-up Forum Chair will review all submitted abstracts and will evaluate them thematically and professionally. You will find out whether your abstract was selected for an oral presentation after February 8.

Please comply with the abstract submission guidelines:

  • Please provide the contact details, including the presenter’s name and position, com-pany name, location and company website.
  • Furthermore, the abstract (max. 2.500 characters excl. white spaces) must include a company as well as technology / application introduction.
  • Please include some basic facts about your company (founding date, location, number of employees, status of funding etc.). It is mandatory to clearly describe your business model.
  • The presentation of your product should include the underlying technologies and a de-scription of the application areas or use cases. Please emphasize the unique selling propositions of your offering.
  • In order to assess the status of your development please list some major past and up-coming milestones. Also, please describe possible sustainability impacts and benefits.

Monday, January 18, 2021: Deadline for abstract submission

Monday, February 8, 2021: Confirmation of participation

Wednesday, March 24, 2021: Presentation at LOPEC

To give a presentation at the Start-up Forum, your company must meet the following requirements:

  • Be legally independent and innovative
  • Have existed for less than 10 years
  • Have fewer than 50 employees

We are aware of the current situation and the resulting unforeseeable travel restrictions. We are therefore working on a solution that will enable speakers to participate in the LOPEC 2021 Start-up Forum by online presentation.

A jury of investors and entrepreneurs will evaluate the presentations and honor the best in the following two categories:

  • Best Business Case
  • Most Impactful Technology or Product

The jury shall be composed of

  • Dr. Michael Korell (Head of the jury), Project Manager, Evonik (DE)
  • Dr. Michael Hack, VP of Business Development, Universal Display Corporation and UDC Ventures (US)
  • Oliver Kahl, MIG Verwaltungs AG (DE)

The program will be made available to you here in mid-February.
